M-DCPS Art Therapy

ArtThread is proud to be working with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Clinical Art Therapy department. Art therapists were trained as part of the Work of Art program that ArtThread provided to Project 10: Transition Education Network. These art therapists, lead by Craig Seigel and Dr. Patricia Isis, have integrated the Work of Art program as an intervention within their art therapy program, and their students have become experts in using Splash!, ArtThread's online, no-fail, big-fun art-making tool. The work of these students was recently displayed at the Frost Museum in Miami as part of their "ARTWorks" exhibit. This fine art therapy program is one of the most comprehensive art therapy departments in the country and serves students participating in programs for emotional/behavioral disabilities (E/BD). The Individual Educational Plan (IEP) team determines the specialized instruction and related services needed for students with disabilities to access a free and appropriate education (FAPE).
